COVID-19 Update - May 26 (College of Optometrists of Ontario)
The Chief Medical Officer of Health has amended Directive #2 so that health care providers can begin a gradual return to non-urgent care.
As per the revised directive, optometrists can begin seeing patients provided they follow:
- the College's Return to Work guidance
- the Ministry of Health's guidance COVID-19 Operational Requirements: Health Sector Restart
The return to work is intended to be gradual and allow optometrists to appropriately prepare. Optometry practices must comply with both the College guidance and the Ministry of Health guidance prior to opening, particularly those that have not been open for in-person, urgent care.
